Our Fourth of July,2006, trip to Kissimmee Part 1

A leisurely afternoon around the pool.
A great way to beat the heat!
Makes you want to jump right in!

This year we were fortunate enough to be able to visit Cathy's niece Heather, her family, and friends at a vacation house they rented on the outskirts of Kissimmee, Florida.
Although a few times the weather was a bit ugly, the home was beautiful, and the company was great.
It was nice to feel the energy the kids gave off. They were all well behaved, and a credit to the parenting skills of their parents.
They all marched through the Orlando theme parks one day after another. Cathy and I have been to most of the parks, and being wary of the Florida Summer heat and humidity, declined to go. We'd been to Kissimmee before, so we were able to keep busy.

We know we can count on enjoying ourselves with Heather, Barry, Sasha, Conner and Lyndon. This time we were fortunate to meet their friends, neighbors, and traveling companions Alan, Brenda, and their daughters Ashley and Kristy.
In addition Sasha brought along her friend Zach, a very nice young man.

I wish I'd gotten more pictures of people, but not everyone is comfortable with a camera in their face. Especially if It's someone they don't know, so I tried to respect that.

Cathy and I did go to one park for a few hours. The Epcot Center at Walt Disney World.
My longtime friend Tom is a Disney employee, and brought us in as his guest.

Although I mentioned the Fourth of July in the title, we arrived on July 1st. Heather and company did too. Cathy and I only had to travel a couple of hours, where they all came down from New York in a van.
They didn't waste time on resting! The next day they were off to a water park to splash around. The days after that, they marched through, and stood on line, at Disney's Animal Kingdom, Sea World, and Universal's theme park.

Our Fourth of July,2006, trip to Kissimmee Part 2

The group at Downtown Disney
I've been trying to get to Part 2 for a while.
The first part went together without too much trouble. The only problem I had was losing some of my text. Apparently Fotopages only allows each page to be a certain size. However, it let me keep on entering more text, and it didn't publish it all. It took me a while to get back on track to finish the story.

When we last saw Heather, Barry and the group it was on the first day they hadn't been to an attraction. The Kids couldn't stand for that! They were heading out to souvenir shop after we last saw them.
After saying our Goodbyes we went on to meet my friend Tom at Downtown Disney. He works just down the street from there.
Cathy was curious about the LEGO Imagination CenterĀ® at the Downtown Disney Marketplace, so we checked it out. Along with several of the other stores.
While we were waiting for Tom, we heard from behind us "Are you waiting for somebody?" There was Barry and the rest of the group we'd said Goodbye to! We were quite surprised. I finally got the group picture I'd wanted for this page.
From left to right are:Barry, Lyndon, Cathy, Heather, Conner, Brenda, Sasha, Ashley, Alan, Kristy, and Zach.
We'd like to thank everyone again for the great time we had.

These are pictures we took at the Downtown Disney Marketplace, and ones at the EPCOT center at Walt Disney World when we went in with Tom.
Included is one of the worst pictures of me I've ever seen. I was even sober.......

It's been quite a while since I added anything to my Fotopage. This time around I'll be putting up pictures of Cathy in her "Granny Stevens" costume from this past Halloween, 2005. Hope you like it.
